Quality Control Specialist

Salary: £ 45000 per annum (Negotiable)

As the Quality Control Specialist, you will be based in North-West London and responsible for:

  • Supporting the import business for food staff and agricultural products to ensure compliance & feasible operations.
  • Ensuring the imported products quality or/and productions standards are met and maintained as perspecifications and/or given samples before shipment and make sure that a quality product is delivered for consumers.
  • Organising inspections of all imported food staffs and agricultural products complying with any and all standards, internal policies & legal regulations.
  • Investigate and evaluates home and overseas demand for the commodities.
  • Supply chain management-Logistics, Customs clearance procedures for import, Warehousing, Transport and Distribution.
  • Understand, plan, and implement of importstrategiesfor agricultural productsin the UK market.
  • Obtain orders from buyers and arrange payment by bill of exchange, letter of credit or others means.
  • Taking responsibilities for the various storage facilities used for holding agricultural products before they reach supermarket shelves. This is an important administrative task that requires an organised mindset and an aptitude for numbers and efficiency.
  • Planning and managing the dispatch and receipt of goods, track stock levels, organise distribution staff schedules and ensure they meet regulations.
  • The job involves a lot of communication and coordination with overseas exporters, agents, distribution centres, supermarkets and manufacturing plants.
  • Arrange forshipment of commodities overseas and ensure that insurance and export license are in order.
  • Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, sales trends, and results.
  • Building relationships with all key supplier, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Carrying out performance analysis and margin reviews per import vendors.
  • Filling out and maintaining proper paperwork.

The Successful Applicant in order to be considered for the Quality Control Specialist role, you should have:

  • A degree of Master/Research in agricultural or equivalent qualification.
  • A proven track record of work experience in a similar role/similar field.
  • An experience managed people and international exposure is highly desirable.
  • A work experience with overseas sourcing and distribution partners.
  • A proficient ability with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • An additional certificates/qualification in import/export/distribution/Logistics/Supply chain management/Agricultural field.
  • English language knowledge is a must.
